Gold crystal in Quartz Berringa Victoria Australia 25190

A part crystal of gold embedded into reef quartz, the quartz also shows epimorphs of long gone carbonate crystals with some carbonate mineral still in places.

The gold is bright, shiny and clean, also a part crystal as in it has distinct crystal faces on a couple of sides.  As with most of the gold here there is an unusual and attractive 'etched' look to most of the surface.

This was dug by hand from a small scale mine on private land in Berringa, Victoria Australia. You can see the actual dig in the reef this specimen came from in this YouTube video

This specimen is approximately 17x11mm by 7 mm See photo with the scale in mm.  It comes with a handwritten label. Sold as a mineral specimen, this is very high purity natural gold.
