Gold in quartz, Berringa Victoria Australia 25185

This piece is a chunk of reef Quartz with an ironstone coating and a couple of bright, shiny bits of gold sticking out of it.  One piece of gold sticks up on top of the specimen and the other is embedded under a small cavity in the quartz.

This specimen was dug by hand from a small scale mine on private land in Berringa, Victoria Australia. You can see a dig in the reef this specimen came from in this YouTube video.

This specimen is approximately 30x20mm by 9mm. See photo with the scale in mm.  It comes with a handwritten label. Sold as a mineral specimen, this is very high purity natural gold.
