Hyalite Opal-AN on Basalt, Ballarat Victoria Australia 21085
This is a nice specimen of Opal-AN found in Alfredton, a suburb of Ballarat from a find a few years ago but recently trimmed out of the stone, the site is no longer accessible as it is now a housing development. This specimen shows transparent, colourless Hyalite opal in little blebs on one side of a chip of grey basalt. The opal sits out off the stone a bit and shows interesting form Specimen is 20mm x 17mm by 10mm.
