Hyalite Opal -AN on Basalt, Ballarat Victoria Australia 20051
This is a specimen of Opal-AN found in Sebastopol, a suburb of Ballarat from a find in 2013, the site is no longer accessible. This specimen has transparent, colourless Hyalite opal looking like a little blob of jelly in a open cavity on grey basalt. It looks great under magnification. Specimen is 25mm x 19mm by 14mm, opal is just over 6mm across.
