Hyalite Opal-AN on Basalt, Ballarat Victoria Australia 20050
This is a nice specimen of Opal-AN found in Sebastopol, a suburb of Ballarat from a find in 2013, the site is no longer accessible. This specimen shows nice, typical form of transparent, colourless Hyalite opal on a chip of grey basalt. The opal sits out on the stone a couple of mm and shows interesting form There are other micro species on this one too including Hematite. Specimen is 23mm x 14mm by 12mm, opal is just over 7x6mm.
